Edgerley to Shrewsbury
Overnight wild camp
19.5 miles - 2 days
Looking to really get away from it all for a couple of days?
Then this is for you, starting up in the flood plains from the Royal Hill at Edgerley you will find yourself gently meandering through the peaceful and beautiful English countryside. Half-way through your first day you will pass the A5 road bridge and have the chance to stop at The Wingfield Arms for your lunch. Beyond here, more trees start to appear and the views from your canoe start to change. As you arrive at our private and secluded wild campsite you will be the only ones around, aside from a few sheep and maybe a friendly visit from a local farmer. We only allow one group at a time to use the site to ensure you have the place to yourselves, onsite we have an eco-friendly toilet, pre-built fire pit and a picnic bench. Everything else you will need to bring yourself, including water and toilet roll.
On day two you have a gentle 7-mile paddle down into the medieval town of Shrewsbury where you will get views of the castle as you arrive towards the pick-up point. Opposite the pick-up point you can get yourself a drink and some lunch at Lily's Riverside Tea Garden and call us when you are ready to be collected and returned to your car. You should plan to be finished by around about 1pm giving you time to explore Shrewsbury before heading home. Otter and kingfisher sightings are very common along this route.
Ideal for couples, families and groups.
£50 per adult
